This is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed by an attorney, and it will be before Hey Fremont opens to the public. The rules below are what we intend to enforce, and we will enforce them from day one either way.
The short version
Be a good neighbor. Be honest. Look out for each other downtown.
Members are 18+
Nobody under 18 may join or appear in content in any way that puts them at risk.
Your date of birth is checked when you sign up, and the rule is enforced by our database. Any
content that exploits a minor is removed and reported to the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children, with no warning and no appeal.
Many downtown bars and casinos are 21+. Do not invite under-21 members to drink or gamble, and
check a venue’s age rules before you plan a Meet Up there.
Meeting up safely
Meet in public places, especially the first time.
Tell a friend where you are going, or use a safety check-in.
Watch your drink, and look out for the people you are with.
Never drive after drinking. Use a rideshare, a taxi or the bus.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, leave, and report them.
Respect people’s privacy
Post only photos you took or have permission to share.
If someone is clearly in your photo, they have to be OK with it, and they can change their
mind later. Tagging someone is a request; it stays invisible until they accept.
No doxxing: never share someone’s real name, workplace, address, or the hotel or room
they are staying in, without their permission.
No screenshots of private messages posted publicly.
Blocking someone is final. Do not work around it.
How people get treated
No harassment, threats, or ignoring a clear no.
No hate speech or slurs.
No shaming anyone for their body, their gender, their age or being new in town.
Visitors ask basic questions. Answering them is the point of a community.
What cannot be posted
Nudity or sexual content of any kind.
Anything that exploits or endangers minors.
Intimate images of anyone shared without their consent.
Offers of sexual services, or anything else that is illegal to buy or sell.
Buying or selling drugs or weapons.
Cruelty to animals. That includes the wildlife in contest photos: no harming a praying mantis
for a selfie.
Content that promotes self-harm or eating disorders.
Scams, fake giveaways and phishing links.
Reviews and business pages
Review places you have actually been, based on your own experience.
Say so if you work there, own it, or got something free.
No fake reviews, review swaps or paid reviews.
Businesses: keep your page accurate and current, and use it to share your own hours, menu,
events and photos.
Contests, challenges and scavenger hunts
Enter your own photos.
Follow venue rules and the law while you play: no trespassing, no blocking walkways or
performers, no climbing on things you should not.
One account per person. Voting rings and fake accounts get disqualified.
Commercial activity
Businesses are welcome on their own pages. Members: do not join just to advertise, recruit or
sell. New accounts cannot post links, and selling opens up once an account is established.
What happens when you break these
Depending on severity: a warning, content removal, a temporary hold, or removal from the
site. Serious violations skip straight to the end. Every report gets a status you can
see, so you will not be left wondering whether anyone looked at it.
Reporting
Everything on this site is reportable in one click. Reports from established members carry
extra weight, and filing a report that turns out to be right improves your standing here.
